Taschini | Little Collins

Taschini meaning 'Small pockets' in Italian was created by winemaker Matilda Innes, daughter of the renowned wine makers John and Melissa Innes from Ottelia in the Limestone Coast, South Australia.

Taschini is exactly as it's name suggests, small pockets of hand selected fruits, nurtured into small batch wines. The first wine created by Matilda is a fun, fresh approach to a blend of Pinot Gris, Graciano and Sangiovese, best served chilled and enjoyed at a BBQ or Picnic

Taschini Pinot Gris, Graciano, Sangiovese - Chilled Red

Made from a co-ferment of pinot gris, graciano and sangiovese, it’s bright and zippy and certainly begs to be chilled.

Summer berries, redcurrant jelly, rosehip tea, rosewater, musk, smashed cherries and cranberries are all in the mix, with that cranberry theme carried through to the palate along with red apple skin adding a drying pucker of tannin, giving this shape and direction, grapey flavours adding to the frivolity. This is fresh and bright, but with enough tannin to match it up with food. It’s a picnic/beach wine with a lot more going on than that tag suggests.
